1-2 ml of pure oxygen are insufflated directly into the body causing a stimulated reaction in the lungs. This leads to vasodilation, an increase in certain white blood cells and an eight times higher production of hormones which then stimulate blood circulation and the production of anti-inflammatory hormones.
